Ever stopped to question common sense? Earl W. Taylor did, and it led him to coin the term “Shupid Stit”. With a life steeped in experiences, Taylor has come to realize that often, common sense isn’t as common or as sensical as we believe. He questions, “Why should ‘an eye for an eye’ be the answer OR why can’t Government protect the people without killing the people.?” Perhaps there’s more beneath the surface. Our society leans heavily on norms, yet in doing so, do we lose our very essence, our individuality? “Shupid Stit” isn’t about rejecting common sense but rather questioning it, especially when our genuine self and safety are on the line.
